Spring Home Projects

Even though it's warm in Florida for most of the year, spring is still the time we feel compelled to take care of projects around the home, to have a fresh start. Here are some project tips to help keep your work to a minimum and get great results.

Roof

• We had some strong storms this winter, so make sure your roof didn't suffer. Check for missing or loose shingles, and worn out flashing, especially those around chimneys, attic vents and roof-to-wall intersections.
• Remove any buildup of leaves or debris from the roof. Also check for loose or dangling branches above your roof that may fall with the next storm.

• Take the time to clean all fans and air vents to get rid of the accumulated dust.

• Sweep debris from concrete and wood surfaces.
